Khazans are reclaimed wetlands wherein a curated network of bunds form the agricultural land for the harvest of mainly salt, paddy and aquaculture. With time the engineered landscape is depleted due to mining activities, lack of manpower, mangrove and saltwater invasion. The Intervention attempts to reimagine the landscape such that a patch of land is reclaimed back to agricultural land by re-designing the set of flows through channels. The proposed landscape by the provision of storage and processing facility, assists to acknowledge and support the role of identified agents: salt, oyster and algae.
