Where The Land Meets The Sea

My project embodies a comprehensive approach to addressing soil retention and salinity regulation along the coastal dune belts of Cansaulim Beach in Goa. The initiative aims to ensure a consistent water flow from the coast to inland areas. By effectively channeling and managing saline water, the facility contributes to the rejuvenation of previously abandoned agricultural zones and areas facing maintenance challenges. It also addresses regions experiencing depleted groundwater levels. The intervention involves the construction of: a. Soil testing and experimentation lab b. Dune protection unit, c. Storage and maintenance facilities d. Observatory deck These elements work together to stabilize the dunes, regulate saline water flow, and establish both micro and macro ecosystems along the dune belt. Additionally, the project envisions periodic repair and maintenance carried out by local residents, generating stable revenue to support the community and its resources.
