NIRVANA: THE STUDY CHAIR

The studio curriculum focuses on the fundamental principles of furniture design and the inherent qualities of wood as a material. Through a series of exercises, students cultivate skills in technical drawing, fabrication techniques, and the iterative design process. Central to this learning journey is the creation of 'Nirvana,' a study chair inspired by traditional Indian aesthetics. Rooted in a cultural context, Nirvana embodies serenity and tranquility, offering users a peaceful experience. By integrating form and geometry with cultural sensitivity, the chair becomes more than a functional object—it becomes a harmonious blend of design and artistic expression, enriching both the space and the technique used in making it.
