SHELLIS - Desk Organiser

This project focuses on creating a desk organiser for workspaces using coconut shells and brass, highlighting the potential of non-mainstream material in design. Coconut shells, often considered waste, were chosen for their natural texture, durability, and eco-friendly properties. By exploring their forms and finishes, the material was transformed into something functional. Brass was incorporated for its timeless appeal and to complement the organic qualities of the shells. The goal was to push the boundaries of non-mainstream materials, experimenting with coconut shells to reimagine their potential. The organiser is modular, allowing pieces to function separately or fit together in a stand for a neat and cohesive workspace. Through these explorations, the material was reimagined and adapted into a functional product that reflects sustainability and appeals to those who value thoughtful, nature-inspired design.
