A Place for Every Plate

This project focuses on designing a dual-purpose storage solution for wet and dry utensils in a narrow houseboat galley. The user is a solo traveler living permanently on a houseboat in the backwaters of Alleppey. With a width of just 6 feet 10 inches, the galley offers limited space, where utensils are currently stacked inefficiently. There is no dedicated system for drying or organizing washed utensils. The solution must be compact, motion-stable, and easy to access, addressing both space constraints and the challenges of movement on water. The goal is to improve kitchen functionality, safety, and organization on the boat.
