The project caters to the design of a hotel and resort in the hills of Kalimpong. Taking inspiration from Tibetan Buddhist monasteries, the design revolves around the concept of darkness and the slow reveal of the extraordinary views outside. The journey takes you through a cave-like experience, where four spaces - reception, spa, restaurant and bedroom suite - are designed to compel and dictate the movement of the observer from darkness to light aka closed to semi-open to finally open spaces - which leads to a greater appreciation of the views outside.
