Yonchap – Water Offering

Located in the serene hills of Gangtok, this hospitality project is inspired by the sacred Buddhist ritual of Yonchap—the offering of seven water bowls. Embracing the symbolism of this practice, the architectural layout follows a linear sequence, with seven distinct spatial experiences arranged side by side. Tranquil water bodies are interwoven between each space, creating fluid transitions and giving a sense of continuous movement. Rooted in the local cultural and material context, the interiors feature natural textures, indigenous materials, and a warm, earthy palette. The design embodies a rhythmic flow, mirroring the essence of water—its calm, its continuity, and its quiet strength—fostering a deep connection between each space, much like the spiritual unity represented in the water bowl offering.  For high Resolution Portfolio click here
