The project inserts itself amidst the hustle and bustle of a chaotic basti called Haripura, located in the Khokhra district of Ahmedabad city. But upon getting to know more about the gujrati community which is settled there, a story of hardship came to light. The community is into vegetable vendoring but before 1975 they were a group of farmers, due to the emergency invoked at that time many settlements were forcibly built along their land making the people switch their professions to vegetable vending. Because of which their economy took a hard hit. So this project will act as a relief as well as it can bring out the women of the community to become an asset for the community. As they will be growing their own organic vegetables alongside manure and will be retailing it there itself. It is focused on the consumers who are visiting the international school just beside the basti and further they will also be offering food kiosk which serves fresh juices and salads. It creates a two fold opportunity - (1) for the consumers, as there is a new trend for having organic and rare vegetables (2) for the community, an economy booster. So the dropbox can create a new experience for the social context.
