INDIGO ROOTS- AN AJHRAKH BLOCK PRINTING STUDIO

Indigo Roots is an organisation dedicated to designing fabrics using the Ajrakh block printing technique. Ajrakh block prints consist of motives that are used to create patterns. These patterns are broken down into several parts and precisely carved out on a wooden block. The impression of these wooden blocks creates an amalgamated pattern, which is further dyed indigo. From design to production, this studio offers a communal space where multiple designers and artisans can work together, share techniques, and create contemporary designs to revive traditional block printing. a grid with respect to the vertical beams. The governing factor for the integration of angles with horizontal lines comes from the geometric pattern called WAT WALL (using sharp edges)which uses a creeper border to create an integral pattern.
