Contemporary craft design collaboration

Our final assignment was to design an ‘interior architecture element’ for “Contemporary CraftDesign Week 2018 ” with a theme of designed and crafted in India, representing the plurality of contemporary craft and interior architecture practice in India. As participants we could submit an entry for any ONE of the following locations: A) Milan, Italy B) Mumbai, Maharashtra, India C) Bapugaon, Palghar District, Maharashtra, India. The idea was to work with a specific craft technique and conceptualize breathtaking applications which fit into the domain of interior architecture. Each team had to select two craft techniques (One of which would be studied by one of the team members in the earlier assignment) and develop innovative interior architecture elements with it. The intent is to engage in a collaborative craft design process and work closely with your craft partners.

We worked with Motibharat (Beadwork) and wood carpentry to create door handles & knobs for Milan.
