Multi-faceted single unit

The Building Crafts module looks at the tangibles and intangibles related to crafts in interior architecture and design. This course exposes the students to both theoretical and practical aspects of building craft. This is done through lectures, field research, mapping and documentation, literature studies and design collaboration. The course intends to sensitize students to work with crafts and to incorporate them in contemporary design.

The intent of the course is that the student gains an understanding and knowledge of working with traditional crafts and craftspeople and be able to co-create contemporary designs which would be partly demonstrated through their end term work.
