During this course I studied and observed Marcel Breuer’s classic Caesca chair and developed a design process by making a chair which follows the same cantilever principle but with wood. Keeping in mind the behaviour of wood I explored various cantilever structural forms in which all the components of the chair are meeting at one junction and that junction acts as a load bearer. I distributed all the joinery at the junction and introduce sheet metal which holds legs, seat and back. It is a knock down chair in which thoghtful placement of the joineries makes the junction quite strong.
