The intervention is an adaptive exhibition space acting as an Interpretation Centre for Jama Masjid (which is located opposite the Fruit Market site) by day and a small scale rentable retail space catering to the tourists that Manek Chowk attracts, by night time. The mezzanine and the terrace combined, create valuable free spaces for community use in an otherwise densely built area such as Manek Chowk. Therefore the intervention is a flexible system that can utilize the space according to the changing needs. The intervention is layered over the existing function of the site, i.e. a fruit and vegetable market.
