Tech-tile

The project introduces a pioneering approach to computational materiality, focusing on stoneware clay, a member of the ceramic family. The primary objective is to explore linear thin tile vaults constructed solely through module interlocking, eliminating mortar and minimizing shuttering requirements. This dry modular assembly technique promises significant time and cost savings. Through meticulous analysis of material properties, particularly strength and efficiency, the project employs evolutionary algorithms to optimize the designed geometries. This optimization process ensures that the structures achieve maximum performance while minimizing material usage and construction time. By seamlessly integrating computational design principles with traditional materiality.
