In Order to Tame

This 3–4 minute paper-cut stop-motion animation film, developed over four months, focuses on world-building through sound design and handcrafted visuals. While combining armature-based stop-motion and replacement animation for fluid character movement, the project emphasizes the creation of a fully immersive soundscape. The sound design was intricately crafted to bring the world to life, from atmospheric sounds that define the post-apocalyptic environment to subtle audio cues enhancing the storytelling. The sound work was integrated throughout the process, from storyboarding and animatics to the final editing phase. This project highlights the significant role of sound in creating narrative depth, with each sound element carefully considered to resonate emotionally with the audience and amplify the tactile charm of the paper-cut animation.
