The journey began with a print workshop where I explored traditional techniques like woodblock printing, etching, screen printing, and cyanotype. These hands-on methods helped me understand texture, layering, and the expressive potential of visuals. We then moved into grid mapping and thumbnail exercises, which built a strong foundation in layout, rhythm, and visual balance.Following that, the cookbook redesign introduced me to the role of content, hierarchy, and audience in shaping effective page spreads. I experimented with different layout variations before finalizing a cohesive design. Later, we were assigned food ambassadors, mine was Rushad Ginwala, a restaurateur known for curating rich dining atmospheres. His work inspired me to think deeply about how ambience affects our food experiences. This led into my semester project and book Ambience, where I combined all these learnings, typography exploration, layout design, photo editing, and collage-making. I used these tools to express the mood and setting that surrounds food, not just the food itself. Overall, the process taught me how to use design as a way to tell stories and shape experiences.
