Rewire

This project is an exploration of the idea that capitalism, elitism and by extension oppression is also internalized and not always imposed upon, disguised as a game— REWIRE. The game is staged as a recruitment tool by a big Pharma company— Fexa Labs. A moderator facilitates the game that can be played with at least three people. Simple game mechanics are employed— drawing from the set of decks three decks (one of which can only be accessed through playing at least 3 rounds and acquiring at least one favor token), finishing the said task or spending resources if choosing not to, and justify one’s own choice to gain Favors. After playing at least 8 rounds or once a player’s currency is extinguished, each player is presented with the company’s diagnostics of the role they will be hired for— whether they are harvested, they become a recruiter themselves or they remain a bystander to the system facilitating or abiding by it.
