PRECINCT AT AMRITAVARSHINI VAV

The Amritavarshini Vav is located in the eastern part of the old Ahmedabad. The site consists of a stepwell, gate, a government building and fort wall. There are 4 main bazaars in the immediate context of the sites talpatri market ,sindhi market , cycle bazaar and the revdi bazaar. Our site is just 2 mins walk from the heritage walk. In fact all the heritage places are nearer to the site, so looking at this point our site could be a tourist place. While there’s a lot of difference within the site like the building is a colonial building and the gate belongs to the British era in Ahmedabad, the Vav belongs to the Mughal era, the fort wall belongs to the Sultanate era. So instead to adding something and making it a place why not exhibit the building, gate and the vav. By creating different experiences within the site. A place where they get to experience the era and celebrate the building.
