Located in Diu, a coastal town, ‘Circa 1598’ is an adaptive reuse project that converts the 450 year old St. Thomas Church, into a boutique hotel comprising rooms and suites along with multiple in-house culinery experiences and entertainment for the guests. The interventions done to the church are such that the existing architecture is preserved, so the guests can experience it. Space planning is around the concept of levels with staggering volumes making a fan like structure when seen in plan.  Close to the commercial area, it is just a 10 minute walk to the sea.
