Orthographic drawings visualized on a single sheet have been cut and folded to form 3D solids that have further been tessellated to create geometric patterns. Similar techniques are also used in story narration. Planar sheets like paper, acrylic, GI sheets, etc are often categorized as depthless and flat but their property to self-fold and transform into 3 dimensional surfaces through cuts and creases provides a broader range of scope to space saving techniques. This being the main tool of focus, mechanisms explored using paper have been conceptualized to kinetic surfaces and transformable products using different materials to suit the users.
