SECTRIX

SECTRIX is a responsive pavilion combining origami geometry and scissor mechanisms to create a dynamic, modular vault. Designed for the Ahmedabad riverfront, it spans 200 sqm and accommodates up to 75 people for talks, exhibitions, and gatherings. The structure uses a triangulated Ron Resch origami pattern with a scissor-frame system, enabling seamless expansion and contraction without disassembly. A fabric skin, sandwiched between aluminum ribs, folds like an umbrella. Modular aluminum sections and cast joints ensure ease of manufacturing and assembly. SECTRIX prioritizes rapid deployment, low energy transformation, and flexible spatial configurations, offering a reconfigurable architectural solution through elegant kinetics.
