Notional space in Theatre

Creating permanent spaces usually demand conventional construction methods and resources for durability and lasting impressions. How qualitative are the interior spaces in their making? as the methods do not necessarily always ensure extendibility in the experience of space. In interior design, however, exploration of temporary construction methods can facilitate temporality by creating lasting impressions of the experience of space. The studio explores the construction of theatrical space for the performance of ‘ TUGHLAQ ‘ written by GIRISH KARNAD in the specific setting of the Sarkhej Roza - Ahmedabad, to be stationed for a time period and continuous viewing. Theatre stage design offers a platform for temporary constructions and lasting impressions as well as offers viable construction methods in the permanent spaces such as historical sites, parks, public buildings, natural sites, etc
