This studio was to develop understanding and changing the method of designing. Rather, focusing just only towards the space planning and layouts, it had a deeper understanding of how different elements comes together , through the idea of materials, and exploring till the extent of the materials limitation with each element. The method started from rather detailing out the elements, it’s meaning, aspects, understanding and designing keeping under many aspects of ideal situation and giving a particular thought towards structural possibility and aspects of existing and corresponding with the exploration through character of individuality to be developed. Exploring in elements designed under no specific limitations which gave the freedom to think of any aspect and which reflects upon the idea to create new ideas. The ideas first started with the base through models, the intention was to create a direct communication of the idea and have a brief about the design. Then studio addresses the site which has rich set of characters of it’s own. The studio had the theme of Adaptive Reuse, the site which is the fragment of the past, which has been through many decades and centuries, where there were different purpose of the building which was served during that period of time which has now disintegrated. So, through the aspect of design, it had to be in such context, that the design decision taken on the building, which has been through different shades of time and periods, keeping that in mind and creating such that it responds towards the building which can be respectful and the historical event which was created during that period, rather continuing the past idea is create a new set of history with new aspects of purpose served and reflecting towards current aspect and being dealt with new design invasions and characters. After the site visit, the understanding was to be developed with the history of the site, the sense of the context and how it affected and impacted. Addressing the site which is now in ruins and the idea of reusing it again which brought the aspects of the building to be taken care of, for example closing and completing the building. The built form is made many centuries ago, but dealing with the aspect of continuing the use of it in a different manner where now all the elements explored during the starting which were now again to explored with the context in response to materials used in elements, with the understanding of potential and limitations with respect to the language and combining and proposing the idea of reusing the building.
