Narrating Through Abstraction

Typography, image, and narratives all are interconnected. Combining them creates a storyline. Through the tool of abstraction, a lot of things could be represented in a very simple way. A combination of metaphors in an abstraction gives deep meaning to the visual, which could be seen in the poster based on a poem. As well, pursuing our surroundings with different perceptions and adding character to them has built the skill of characterization and narrative building. This could be seen through the development of the storybook.
For the final project, observing “Bachakawala” an entire community and their workspace led to an abstraction of that community. The main thing in that community is hardship and struggles. This gave direction for designing a game that makes one experience the difficulties of this community, which reveals the stories and experiences of the community.
