Anand - National Urban Livelihoods Mission

Poverty alleviation is a global priority under the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. In India, this is a discretionary function of the Urban Local Bodies (ULB) as outlined in the 12th schedule of the 74th Constitutional Amendment Act. National Urban Livelihoods Mission has become synonymous with urban poverty alleviation because of its large-scale mission plan and direct impact on the urban poor. This mission directly involves the ULBs in the implementation. Skill Training serves as a catalyst in escaping the vicious cycle of "poverty begets poverty." The work showcased here focuses on creating a robust framework for skill training in smaller-cities
