Every building shall be constructed, equipped, maintained and operated as to avoid undue danger to the life and safety of the occupants from fire. The main focus of the topic, fire safety is to analyse the role of committee and the residents in understanding the importance of it, in a residential society. The study consists of observations, survey and questionnaire among the building occupants to understand the issues they face due to lack of facilities in the building. The occupant survey is conducted to determine their perceptions of fire safety in high-rise buildings and the practicability of measures that could be adopted to improve the same.
