Sewage and Drainage System in Morbi City

The project focuses on improving the sewerage and drainage systems in Morbi, recently upgraded to a Municipal Corporation. The city currently lacks a comprehensive sewer network and relies on on-site sanitation and open drains, causing frequent overflows and health risks. The project involved mapping existing infrastructure, assessing service levels against CWAS benchmarks, and proposing GIS-based planning, digital monitoring tools, and an FSSM model with decanting stations. It recommends integrating private desludging operators and enhancing municipal capacity. The outcome is a phased roadmap to improve sanitation service delivery, reduce environmental hazards, and support Morbi’s transition to a sustainable urban sanitation model.
