Civic engagement is participation of people through direct or indirect way for private or government system to achieve common goals. One of the reasons for the failure of a system in place is the lack of citizens’ involvement in the process of implementing. Here civic engagement will be analysed in Jamalpur ward, Ahmedabad in the context of solid waste, littering and cleanliness. In spite of having a good solid waste management plan, human resource, funding, instruments etc, it has been seen that at the process of implementation part things do not go through an appropriate manner.
