There is a rise in private vehicles owing in recent years which results in over spilling and congestion on roads. In spite of the provision of parking bye-laws for buildings, there is a lack of effectiveness in implementation thus vehicles are parked on roads resulting in haphazard parking, congestion on stress. This study aims solve to public parking related issues of Shahpur Ward with objective to identify existing public parking policies, working of the system, current scenario in Shahpur Ward (Central Zone), the issues and root cause analysis for the same, followed by conducting appropriate surveys and analysis to come up with an effective proposal for public parking management. The aim to create Integrated Parking Management Plan (IPMP) based on guidelines and actions for the management of parking across the ward. The IPMP is achieved through various objectives that are allocation of On-Street parking with the provision of choice in types and locations of parking, timely delivery of parking solutions to meet parking needs and support economic activity with the management of the most desirable parking spaces.
