Facilities Management: Ahmedabad Education Society

This project focuses on solid waste management of GICT, building Ahmedabad University (AU) and thus Ahmedabad Education Society (AES). Waste segregation being a point of utmost importance for an urban scenario and an educational institution looking forward to promote local ethos of Ahmedabad, should work on waste management for its better image in society. Shift from current plan to a facilities management (FM) oriented SWM plan can be easily brought through by awareness, motivation and goal setting. For solid waste proposals to utilize maximum waste on-site with optimum resources are scope of work. Recycling (off-site) and composting (on-site) being implementable within a short span, and thus were dealt with. Cost cutting tools are many (like improvised execution or change in operating mechanisms), but a facilities manager would always be looking for effectiveness of proposed facilities. Upon all these a facilities management plan is the final output shows implementation of projects in phases planned over one and three years.
