Thaltej Ward Management Plan

Water User groups essentially enlist the participation of the community in the management of water supply systems in the ward. As a large percentage of the ward depend on groundwater as a source of drinking water it is important that rain water harvesting be practiced as it can augment drinking water supply and reduce groundwater dependency. Rain water harvesting has not yet taken off because people are reluctant to bear the operation and maintenance costs associated with these systems, but with community participation the costs associated with it can be distributed and harvesting can be made affordable.
