WARD MANAGEMENT PLAN- SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT FOR VASNA

Waste collection now a days is not just a matter of environmental or aesthetic concerns, but also to handle the massive amount of waste that is generated daily. India as a whole generates around 1,43,449 metric tonnes of municipal waste per day, which is subjected to increase along with its increasing population. ULBs which are at the most lower level of the administrative structure of the country are responsible for collection and disposal of the waste that is collected. Municipal solid waste management is the most basic facility that needs to be provided to the citizens to ensure a hygienic living condition and clean environment. To ensure the success of ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” by the year 2019, there needs to be hand to hand share of responsibilities from the officials as well as the citizens. Hence, to understand the whole system of waste collection and citizen’s view, household and official survey was conducted which gave us a clear picture of the waste collection scenario.
