Heritage & Tourism Infrastructure (CIP): Project ARTHA

The City Infrastructure Plan(CIP) studio focused on India’s first UNESCO recognized world heritage city: the Historic City of Ahmedabad. A unique opportunity to explore the challenges of brownfield development. The outstanding universal values recognized by UNESCO based on its cultural values and heritage have been challenged through the years. As a result, the heritage infrastructure and tourism activities were studied and analyzed in detail. Through this course, the power of data was recognized which lead to the evolution of project ARTHA. It's the first step to address the deteriorating heritage properties within the walled city.
