Pop-Up Parks through Green Retrofitting

Ahmedabad's current allocation of parks and gardens, based on town planning schemes, falls short of meeting the needs of its growing population and urbanization. As per capita income rises alongside GDP growth, Ahmedabad's livability standards must align with global benchmarks. To achieve this, it's imperative to increase the availability of parks and gardens within a 5 to 10-minute walking distance from every neighborhood. Adopting a strategy of pop-up parks through green retrofitting allows us to utilize neglected areas or structures, upgrading or repurposing them into vibrant green spaces. This approach effectively addresses the density challenges while enhancing the city's livability standards and fostering community well-being.
