24*7 water supply in peripheral area of Surat

The pilot project aims to implement a 24×7 continuous pressurized water supply system in B2B  zone, a peri-urban area under Surat Urban Development Authority (SUDA), to address existing gaps in equitable, reliable, and sustainable water access. Targeting over 6,800 households, the project integrates smart technologies such as prepaid household meters and SCADA systems, zonal metering for leak detection, and a robust water treatment and distribution infrastructure sourced from the Tapi River. It follows a phased implementation strategy (2024–2035) and is financially structured through a blended model combining public funds, user tariffs, and private participation. This initiative supports national missions like Jal Jeevan Mission and aligns with SDG 6, positioning B2B zone as a scalable demonstration model for future water infrastructure across SUDA’s 1,307 sq. km jurisdiction.
