Shoreline Resilience for Surat

The Shoreline Resilience Pilot for Surat applies Blue-Green Infrastructure (BGI) principles to transform the Suvali–Tena coastal corridor into a climate-adaptive, ecologically vibrant zone. It focuses on restoring over 50 hectares of mangroves, regulating unplanned aquaculture, and introducing sustainable eco-tourism while supporting community livelihoods. Anchored in nature-based solutions and governed by a proposed SPV, the project aligns with CRZ norms and Surat Economic Region’s Vision 2047. Through ecological restoration, green job creation, and innovative financing (CSR, blue carbon credits, eco-tourism), it offers a scalable model for resilient shoreline development in rapidly urbanizing coastal cities.
