WASH Led Slum Upgradation

This pilot initiative focuses on inclusive sanitation in the high-density, vulnerable slum areas of Chapparbhatta and Amroli in Surat. Targeting tenable informal settlements located near rivers and creeks, the project addresses challenges such as open defecation, inadequate sanitation services, and limited infrastructure. Implemented through a three-phase WASH model, it introduces intermediate interventions to close critical gaps along the sanitation ladder. By promoting equitable access to safe sanitation, the model supports health, dignity, and environmental resilience. Its scalable framework offers a practical approach for upgrading urban slums through integrated, community-centered infrastructure solutions.
