The aim of the project is to retain and reimagine MG road’s historic role as a hospitality driven space by preserving the legacy of sarais while making it into a mixed-use, pedestrian first urban corridor that promotes high-quality urban life with minimal dependency on private vehicles, designing the street as such it responds meaningfully to the needs of both residential as well as transient users, hence providing a strong sense of belonging. The project seeks to preserve and reinterpret the historic character of the sarais, adapting their typology to morph and create new built forms that respond to contemporary needs.
