Resilience: A city in Permafrost

Urban environments are facing the effects of global warming, and in absence of strategic planning to mitigate the effects, the severity is only going to manifold. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) notes that many of the changes induced by climate change are already irreversible and we are very likely to reach the critical tolerance thresholds for agriculture and health in the coming decades without strong and sustained reductions in global emissions. The studio investigates extreme climatic, topographical, social and economic challenges in the year 2071.
