Vansa, a ward in the Ahmedabad city is facing the issue of flooding due to low lying area, increase in impervious cover and lack of infrastructure. The study, tries to accesses the various causes and develop systems to be implemented for sustainable ground water resources in Ahmedabad with implementation of water harvesting methods, aquifer recharging methods. These methods can be implemented by confirming them in the new building and city planning regulations. The framework will be supported by examples of the cities in India and abroad that have been able to increase their ground water level like Bangalore, Portland, Seattle, Baltimore
