AAVAS: Aavas-sthan: Nurturing Habitual Ambience

This project is a redevelopment project of the existing rehabilitation centre in Vashi Naka, Mumbai. The process has been worked out around the community open spaces as a broader topic, with additional sub topics. Understanding the concept of open spaces in the public realm, the program consequently focuses on public grounds/open spaces, neighborhood spaces(community open spaces) and micro level neighborhood spaces. Working on interfaces in public and residential spaces, specifying the easy transition from public-semi public-semi private-private spaces, the approach is to make the cluster more interactive not only among the residents but also with the existing informal settlements .
