Project Unnati: Opportunity Heights

Opportunity Heights is a visionary urban design project situated in Surat, India, at the bustling crossroads of livelihood and trade. This transformative initiative aims to address the housing needs of economically weaker sections while fostering a dynamic environment for commerce and institutions. At its core, Opportunity Heights seeks to integrate commerce into the fabric of daily life, creating a self-sustaining ecosystem where markets, live-work spaces, and institutional structures coalesce seamlessly. By blending formal and informal economies, the project provides opportunities for income generation and addresses critical issues such as waste management and maintenance. The larger idea behind Opportunity Heights is to redefine traditional urban patterns, where housing and commerce are intricately intertwined. The project aims to uplift marginalized communities and create vibrant neighbourhoods that thrive on economic activity and community engagement by prioritising connectivity and inclusivity.
