Maan Darwaja in Surat is a neighbourhood of migrant workers living in unorganised settlements. The living patterns, values and needs of the community was understood by carrying analysis through documented works, readings and discussions. The project attempts to inculcate better and flexible living conditions for the community through redesigning. Project aims to give to the community the open spaces they crave for by integrating it with pedestrian circulation in the form of a primary pedestrian spine derived by mapping their daily routes.
