Located at the core of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Ahmedabad, Gheekanta is rich in heritage character. With proximity to many important historical landmarks and markets, the area also has been an attraction for many visitors. The struggle of the citizens to adapt to modern lives and the new Gheekanta metro station indicates a need for a local area plan to utilize the potential and manage the pressure of growth. This project aims to revitalize the Gheekanta area while preserving its inherent heritage character.
