ISSR, Resettlement and Rehabilitation of slums

In-situ slum redevelopment has a high potential to direct the overall housing scenario of any city as it is the only vertical that involves private investment & the state plays the role of enabler of the policy. Households located in hazardous areas or land reserved for public projects are considered untenable, of which the most vulnerable are the slum households. While relocation and resettlement of project-affected people is non-negotiable, it is often manifested by the government through a hefty financial plan. Thus the ISSR strategy can be used to produce additional units that can be utilized to aid other issues like Relocation and Resettlement of Untenable slums, rental affordable housing as well as shelter for the homeless.
