ODYSSEY: Intermodal Transit Centre in Kayavarohan.

The project ODYSSEY is an intermodal transit Centre designed in Kayavarohan, Vadodara, Gujarat. The program is in itself was to  design a transit center that caters both train and bus passengers at a common point for all the transit needs in Kayavarohan. The main project intent was to create a coherent circulation where the built itself divides the circulation path through in and out, and putting people in front as the major access of the transit Centre. A minimal attempt was also made to connect the south and north of the city through the transit Centre leaving a greater opportunity for the future progress in the city. The designed transit Centre is a visually lightweight frame structure built using trusses spanning all over supported by columns and cladded with horizontal plywood louvers. So this odyssey as the word says a long and continuous journey through in and out of a layered space.
