As a part of the overall Water & Sanitation studio exercise, Municipal Finance was also analyzed to understand the financial status of the ULB and how it impacts the overall planning of the city of Ahmedabad. It helped us in understanding the monetary in-comings and outgoings of the ULB. Revenue & Capital accounts were analyzed and the future projections for the same were derived. These projections showed the variations in the two accounts over time considering all the future interventions planned for the city. This exercise aimed at helping the ULB plan it's finances better based on the scenario analysis.

Summary of Revenue Account of AMC's Budget from FY 2011- FY 2017.

Projections of the Revenue Account for Business As Usual Scenario based on the trends of 2011-17.

Projections of the Revenue Account if the Tax Collection Efficiency is improved based on the trends of 2011-17.

Projections of the Revenue Account if Revenue Expenditure is reduced along-with improvement in Collection Efficiency of taxes based on the trends of 2011-17.

Funding vs. Financing options that are utilized by the ULB for various interventions and their probable share.

Investments requirements for all the projects, their impact and possible funding agencies for the same.

Based on the investments requirement and the duration of the projects, phasing of all the interventions is shown. The complete financial planning is divided into three stages of 4 years each.
