The Real Estate and Housing Strategy Studio for Surat was designed to make housing affordable and suitable for people across all income levels. This was achieved in three steps. First, we assessed Surat's current situation by examining its land, population, employment, and types of housing. We also analyzed residents' earnings to identify who needs what kind of home. This provided a foundation for planning the city's housing requirements. In the second and third steps, we concentrated on Surat's growth and the types of housing that will be necessary in the future. We utilized this information to create tailored plans for different income groups. These sub-strategies will help bridge the gap between housing demand and supply. The goal is to ensure that every individual, regardless of wealth, can access a proper home in the future. The portfolio highlights the P3 sub-strategy "Provisionary strategy for homeless" to provide safe and accessible shelters for urban homeless individuals and migrant workers through both short-term and long-term housing, while also enhancing existing support systems and frameworks.
