Adaptive In Between

The site Brahmani Mata no Vas has a central open space within the vas featuring a small temple and is surrounded by residential buildings. Some of the residents use the central space at times to engage in occupational work, like sewing handkerchiefs, as their houses are very small to accommodate these activities. However, there are no shaded spaces, making it an uncomfortable experience. The space is utilised occassionally during occasions, but it is majorly underutilized due to the lack of social infrastructure. The residents of the community wish that it could transform into a place that caters to their various needs. The project thus aims to transform the space into a vibrant place that prioritizes flexibility and adaptability to accommodate a variety of activities and events to take place, fostering community engagement.
