Plaza Pulse: Energizing Urban Spaces

The Tilak Maidan site in Gomtipur village stands prominently along the primary road, easily accessible and bustling with vehicular activity. Surrounded by a mix of buildings, many of which house retail shops on the ground floor, the site embodies an industrial and commercial ambiance. At its heart lies a small plinth, the mandap, which serves as a cultural and social hub. Unfortunately, the available seating area on site, mainly the mandap, is often used for storage, leading to underutilization. Moreover, the space is predominantly occupied by parked vehicles, which conflicts with activities such as children playing and community events. To remedy this, the project seeks to address parking issues and activate the site through various interventions, transforming it into a vibrant community space.
